Rights Respecting Schools
We are a 'Rights Respecting School. At The Willows Primary School, we are committed to placing the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of our core values and ethos. We believe children's participation is integral to all aspects of school life. The result is a raised sense of security and self confidence which allows them to take the next step in advocating the rights of children everywhere.

Useful Information
Reading
Each week your child will take part in Guided Reading. This is where a small group of children will explore a text with the teacher. Specific features will be looked at such as the front cover, back cover, title, author, blurb and images. Text related vocabulary will be explored so that following a walk through the children can read the book themselves, with the teacher listening to each child individually. It would really support your child's development if you could practise these skills at home with them too. Please ensure that your child brings their book bag every day. Books are changed on Monday and Friday.
