Art
Our art curriculum is designed to engage, inspire and challenge children, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own pieces of art. Pupils are given opportunities to think critically and develop a deeper understanding of art and design and should provide an opportunity to express their individual interests and develop their ability to make insightful observations. We want our children to be excited at the prospect of art and enjoy the opportunity to learn creatively in the classroom.
Our art curriculum is based around the National Curriculum and links to our geography and history topics. From Nursery to Year 6, our children develop knowledge and skills in the following strands:

Through quality teaching, practical learning and a range of resources and materials we provide our children with exciting lessons which encourage them to use their imaginations. We hope to stimulate a love for art through exploring a range of local and historical artists and by providing different opportunities for our children to share their work with others.
Sketch books are used to provide children with opportunities to experiment and draw on their growth mindset skills to evaluate and improve their techniques during the creative process.
