Rights Respecting School
At The Willows Primary School, we are committed to placing the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of our core values and ethos; believing children’s participation is integral to all aspects of school life. The result is a raised sense of security and self-confidence which allows them to take the next step in advocating the rights of children everywhere.

This half term in topic, Year 6 are focusing on the various art movements and the famous artists who are popular with these movements. We have been looking at abstract, impressionism, expressionism and pointillism to develop our own artistic techniques.
In science we are studying science of light; including how we see and how light travels. We will be carrying out an investigation on how light travels in straight lines and how shadows are formed.
In maths, we are working on fractions, decimals and percentages.
In English, we will be retelling Shakespeare’s Macbeth. We will then write our own Limerick’s and end the half term by writing an explanation text.
Children are expected to attend school in full school uniform. At the beginning of Year 6, all children are given a free school jumper. Additional jumpers can be purchased from the school office.
We have been learning all about William Shakespeare's play, Macbeth and French Impressionist artist Monet.
