Rights Respecting School
At The Willows Primary School, we are committed to placing the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of our core values and ethos; believing children’s participation is integral to all aspects of school life. The result is a raised sense of security and self-confidence which allows them to take the next step in advocating the rights of children everywhere.

In science we are studying electricity, where it comes from, how it works and we will be building our own circuits
In maths, we are working on place value.
In English, we will be learning story and then we will write our own adverts using poetic devices. By the end of half term we will be writing an editorial newspaper article.
This half term we are studying the Tudor period, linking to crime and punishment from the era.
Please support your child to read for 20 minutes each day and sign their reading record to show they have done it.
We have ten new words to learn each week. The children will be tested on a Friday.
Children are expected to attend school in full school uniform. At the beginning of Year 6, all children are given a free school jumper. Additional jumpers can be purchased from the school office.
P.E. will be Monday and Thursday. Please ensure your children have trainers on these days. P.E. kit will be provided.
This will be sent home on Friday to be completed and returned by the following Wednesday.
Check out Anchor Education on YouTube - these educational videos about grammar are an excellent support for children in the run up to SATs!
Please remember to check Seesaw regularly as all important notices and information will be posted on there.
