Attendance updates

How do we celebrate attendance at The Willows?

Here at The Willows, we love to celebrate attendance in fun and rewarding ways to encourage every child to be in school each day. In our weekly assemblies, we share whole-school attendance updates to keep everyone informed and motivated. Each day a child attends, they earn a star for their class jar—these stars can be collected and traded in for exciting prizes at our Attendance Awards Shop. At the end of each term, we recognise children with 100% attendance by awarding certificates and trophies in celebration of their commitment. We also keep parents and guardians updated on their child’s attendance, so we can work together to support every learner’s success.

How do we keep everybody informed of our attendance?

At The Willows Primary School, we believe that keeping everyone informed about attendance helps build a strong school community. By sharing weekly attendance figures with children, staff, and parents we are able to celebrate success and encourage everyone to value good attendance. It helps our children take pride in their efforts and keeps families engaged in their child’s education. Each week, on a Friday, our attendance champions visit each classroom with our attendance weekly flyer. This is then displayed in each classroom so children are aware of our attendance updates! Regular updates also allow us to work together to spot patterns early and offer support where it’s needed— every day in school really does count!
