Safeguarding
At The Willows we are committed to the safeguarding of our children. We work closely with other professionals to support our children and their families. If you have any concerns regarding the safety or well-being of a child, please contact one of our safeguarding team at school below.
Our school policies have been designed to ensure that all adults at The Willows are working together to safeguard and promote the well being of all our young people and adults in school. Our policy describe the systems and arrangements in place to create and maintain a safe learning environment. It identifies any actions which should be taken to address any welfare concerns about young people and adults in school. Please take the time to read through our policy. Our Safeguarding Governor is Sean Vickers.
Ofsted has defined the term ‘safeguarding pupils’ as:
‘The process of protecting pupils from abuse or neglect, preventing impairment of their health and development , and ensuring they are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care that enables pupils to have optimum life chances and enter adulthood successfully.'
Operation Encompass
Our school is part of Operation Encompass. Operation Encompass is a partnership between police and schools. One of the principles of Operation Encompass is that all incidents of domestic abuse are shared with schools, not just those where an offence can be identified.
If you are concerned about domestic abuse, please come and speak to one of our Safeguarding Team.

Early Help Strategy
As part of our support for all children in school we have regular opportunities to consult with support services and health agencies through a multi-agency approach which sometimes includes completing the Early Help Form which supports families as well as pupils.
You can contact your local Early Help Hub by telephoning: 0161 234 1977

The Prevent Duty
All schools have a duty to protect children from Radicalisation. Children can be exposed to different views and receive information from various sources. Some of these views can be considered radical or extreme. Radicalisation is the process through which a person comes to support or be involved in extremist ideologies. As a school, we have a duty of care to protect our children. For further information, follow the link:
