School Action Team - SAT

At The Willows, we believe that every child has a voice and should have the chance to help shape our school community. That’s why we have our School Action Team — our very own student council made up of pupils from across KS2.

The School Action Team meets regularly to share ideas, discuss important issues, and work together to make our school an even better place to learn and grow. They help to plan events, lead projects, and represent the views of their classmates, ensuring that everyone has the chance to be heard.

As a Rights Respecting School, our School Action Team plays an important role in promoting children’s rights — particularly Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which says that every child has the right to express their views and be listened to in matters that affect them.

Through their work, our School Action Team helps make sure that pupil voice is at the heart of everything we do — building a community where respect, kindness, and teamwork shine through.

Polling Day 2025

This October, our school hall was transformed into a polling station as we held our School Action Team Elections! It was a very exciting morning as every child across Key Stage 2 took part in voting for their class representative.

The children showed great enthusiasm, responsibility, and respect throughout the process — just like real voters! It was wonderful to see democracy in action and to hear the children talking passionately about the changes they’d like to see in school.

As a Rights Respecting School, this event also celebrated Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child — every child’s right to express their views and be listened to. We’re so proud to see our pupils putting this into practice through their School Action Team!

2025-2026 School Action Team Members

A huge well done to all our candidates for their brilliant speeches and campaigns, and congratulations to our newly elected School Action Team members for 2025-2026. We can’t wait to see the fantastic ideas you’ll bring to help shape our school community.
