Rights Respecting School
We are a 'Rights Respecting' school. Our current focus is: Article 9
Your education should help you use and develop your talents and abilitites. It should also help you to live peacefully, protect the environment and respect people.

Children will be using our Accelerated Reader system to help make sure that they are reading books that are pitched to help them get the most development from their reading. It is expected that the children read their book every night for at least 20 minutes, and record it in their reading records. Studies show that daily reading improves their vocabulary and comprehension, and it can play an important role in supporting wellbeing too. We expect the children to be reading for at least twenty minutes daily. Please still listen to your child read as this will help their fluency.
Spellings will be given out on a Monday and the children will be tested the following Monday. If children meet their spelling targets, bring their home learning in and complete all their weekly tasks, they can take part in Golden Time on Friday! Homework will be given out weekly on a Friday and it will be due on a Wednesday.
Children are expected to attend school in full school uniform. At the beginning of Year 6, all children are given a free school jumper. Additional jumpers can be purchased from the school office.
We will be studying PE on Monday afternoons and Invasion Games on Thursday afternoons. Trainers must be worn for Thursday's lesson - please make sure your child brings these in so that they are able to take part.
Things to remember

Wednesday - Home Learning due in.
